Access to Buildings

Disability Discrimination Act

The Disability Discrimination Act (1995) states that by October 2004 all establishments to which the public have access e.g. shops, offices, places of entertainment, institutions, schools etc., must provide a facility for access by the disabled. In very many cases it is neither practical nor possible to install a 'fixed' ramp system and this is where Roll-a-Ramp can assist the building owner or facility manager to comply with the Act. Having Roll-a-Ramp available for deployment by a member of staff, will not only help in meeting the requirement to make reasonable adjustments but also demonstrate the appropriate regard for the needs of disabled people. When rolled up the ramps take up very little space and therefore can be used on an 'as required' basis.
